AFYA, which means good health in Swahili, is an organization that disperses unused American medical supplies to disparate countries afflicted with natural disaster, poverty, human destruction and/or any other circumstance that does not allow them to receive proper medical treatment. Volunteers/travelers headed to these countries are able to take these precious items that would otherwise be thrown out in the United States due to inflated regulations, and can not only give those hurt by circumstances out-of-their control proper medical care, but also hope, and another chance to live.
